Don't get me wrong, an R34 would be a nice car to drive around in, but as someone above said, I'd rather spend anywhere to 30k and then have the rest to play around with rather than stretch the 50k
If I was to keep my starlet as my run around and buy a 2 seater it would more than likely be an S2000. But I have a feeling once I get the feel for the S2000 I wouldn't really enjoy going back to my little Starlet
I don't want the Forester as a family car, I've just always liked the car personally. They look nice, they have lots of room for the sound system I want and they go hard.
I do also like the Mazda Cosmo, they have some really nice ones in the eastern states for under 20k.
Where abouts would I import a Forester, or any japspec car anyway? I'm pretty sure there's a yard south from me but not 100% sure. They had some cheap stuff too.
Thanks for all you're help guys, really appreciate it. As much as you must hate me
Oh for christmas I get my choice of headunits too

NOW ya talking!! They are nice cars, can be very quick too. 200kg heavier then the Skylines, but add some extra boost and it's all good.
How much is a Aitech 260RS these days? That's the one you want.

Wouldn't that just chew through fuel?
Not too sure how a 2.6 6 cylinder would work, I had an old EA Falcon wagon that was a 3.9L 6 Cylinder and that absolutely chewed through fuel to the point I couldn't afford to drive it.

You want a $50k sports car and you're worried about fuel costs? Priorities, mate.
I'm probably going to be hated for saying this, but $50k is a good start in life. Why not use it as a deposit on a house? If I earnt enough to pay a mortgage I can honestly say I wouldn't own the 33.
Something to think about, would set you up for life.

haha I know it sounds stupid, but I just don't want to run out of money and end up not being able to drive my pride and joy.
I've got a while to think anyway.

As I said get an M35 Stagea, black and slammed on a set of VIP rims looks awesome.
I'd love a WC34 Autech 260RS (Which BTW Rhys I would set aside $25k to get one in from Ja-pan) however at the end of the day they are still a heavy f'n object and I think you're money maybe better spent on something lighter like the Scubi or an EC5W Legnum, especially if fuel economy is a concern. An RB26DETT hauling a 1,800kg ass is not going to run on anything even resembling an oily rag.

That hot ^^ Better then the one our panel beater has.
Do you have a job? If so you can afford to run it. If I can afford to run 2 cars (although I only have one now) on an apprentice wage, you can too.

That's a damn nice forester.
I'd keep the kit and keep it low, but I'd respray it, drop in a better turbo and do all the sound system myself.
Very nice car though

I'm gonna take a guess and say you're not very clued in when it comes to modding cars???
Keep Starlet. Put deposit on house. No point owning a high performance car if you're worried about petrol costs using all your money, petrol is one of the cheaper sides of owning a hpi

Laptop didn't load the comments section before, so I thought it was just stock standard haha
I'd much prefer a boxer 4cyl engine, even if i'm not thinking about fuel costs.
If I was THAT worried about fuel, I'd go buy a charade. I'm not overly fussed, I'd just much prefer a 4cyl engine.

My advice if your mind is set on the Forrester.
Look at what year your 30K can get. But only look at the top most version that the forester comes in.
then after that you can start moding it with the rest of the money you have.
my main reasoning for this, is that if you buy one that is already done. then you wont apriatiate what you have. (not having a go, its human nature)
also you will have a lot of pride in the car too. cause you have been there for every mod.

Yeah I couldn't agree more with that, it's like my Starlet. I love my car because I turned it into what it is today, ever since it was completely stock.
The Forester would have to be a manual too.
