Ok so at the moment I've driving around in a 97 EP91 Toyota Starlet, fun little car which I've been slowly doing up since I got it.

Step dad came to me today and said that either for my 21st (couple of years away) or possibly sooner, I can have any car I want.

So I was hoping you guys would have some ideas of good cars that I could get. I want a car that goes hard, turns heads and doesn't chew through fuel (no v8's thanks)

So, what are your ideas?

Currently I'm leaning towards a first gen 2.5L Turbo Forester, also have an old school liberty on my mind. So many choices!

By the way, price limit is 50k, so can't be too over the top haha

Was considering an R34 but it's too generic.
Not a fan of 33's
Supras...not a fan
NSX not a fan
s2000 - Love the car to bits but want 4 seats
Don't like Evos
Again, Love Rx-7's but want 4 seats
Don't like beamers
Don't want to be a twat 20y/o with a porche :P
Elise...never thought of that but pretty sure it's a 2 seater?
The audi and maserati wouldn't suit me. I do love Audi's, but I want a tuner, rather than a luxury car.

My plan with the Forester is spend around 20k on a decent condition one with low kms and then get the rims goin, exhaust, new turbo, and the sound system I want :P

just a R34 GTR, cant go wrong there. also 34s are common but also kinda of pricey meaning since there are quite a few on the road they must be well worth it. (yes im a bias statement) :)
skyline... rex... skyline... rex... im starting to sense a pattern

Dude!

No more late nights working on the starlet?
I'm going to miss that week.

He also said I could just have 50k to spend on my starlet. That would be rather fun to build up into a monster.

Don't worry Soc, I'm still going to be loving my starlet for a while to come.

I still think that a skyline would be way too generic (no offense to any skyline owners here) they're just not my thing. The same reason I don't want a VZ or SS ute or XR6 turbo :)

Not a big fan to be honest, I only like the Forester when it's lowered, not a huge fan of 4WDs haha I'm fussy with my cars :P

As at said on friday night, i think 50k would be better spend on another car as a base.

S15, or RX-8. Heaps of change from $50k to mod the fuck out of them.

Dont buy an RX8. Otherwise you'll spend the change from that $50k getting it to run right (I'm a Mazda mechanic so sadly I'd know)

S13
S14
S15
Spend the rest on those cars and they'll kickarse
Cefiro
Laurel
Toyota Crown
Legnum
Galant (New one, not old)
JZX100
Aristo

Seriously man, your a bastard!! My parents havent given me a cent for any of my cars :(

Not a fan of Silvia's either, I see them everywhere :P

Still leaning towards a Forester, maybe it's meant to be? Small yet powerful engine that won't go through heaps of fuel but will still go damn fast.

Cheers for all the suggestions!

Import yourself a Hakosuka KPGC10 and win at life!

Failing that...
Toyota Crown S170 Wagon (1JZ-GTE baby!)
Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R
Mitsubishi Evo 6.5 TME
Mazda RX-7 (Both FC's and FD's are cool)
Mazda Cosmo (Let's be honest with the $50k you can afford the fuel!)
Toyota Supra RZ
Toyota Corolla AE86 Trueno
Nissan Stagea M35 <--- Way cooler then a Forester!!!
Mitsubishi GTO
Mitsubishi Starion

Yeah man, you have $50k! Why buy a family car? Seriously, get something worth it. I know you say Skylines are too common, but 34s aren't, and the GT-R still demand respect wherever it goes.
Even a 2nd hand Evo X? I reckon buy what you wNt (NOT THE FORESTER!!) but keep the Starlet as a daily. Then you don't need 4 seats or fuel economy cos you have that in your daily, and you can focus on fun!
Seriously, with that money I'd be looking at a 34R, an S15 with an SR22VET, or a JZA80 with T04Z...

I wouldn't be looking at an R34 GTR for 50k. I would not buy a 34GTR that was less than 55k, and don't forget on road costs.

Better to look for a car not so close to the amount of money you have, always better to have money left over rather than try to stretch your budget.
