Well small update for you all
Havent had much time to myself lately, so i havent done very much or been overly acvtive on the forum.

Anyways, i have completed the cab and is all primed ready for blocking, i have started work on the doors, compelted the bonnet, and brought a donnor car for seats and other parts ect

I got a V8 and auto box for the ute, with air con and power stearing, but i might keep it manual as it is a 253 and the aussie 4spd will fit right up if i change the input shaft

Im not going to do any engine work to the 253 as this one just purrs away nicly i think i will leave it alone, just a fresh bit of paint on it and maybe a 4 barrel carb and manifold

i have also test sparyed a couple of colours, and have desided on a theme, burgendy red and gold

will have a few photos uploaded soon

Hey mate, better if you make a list of what you need asmost of the parts are crap on the donner car, it is a HZ wagon, the only things that are good and that im not using are the rear door trims and handels and window glass, the tail gate, the air con uint (to suit v8) and the salsbery diff
if theres anything that you need just ask as the donner car is going to be crushed next monday

i am just about to upload some new pics, gotta get them off my phone first lol

The update

253 v8
3 spd auto
Cab repairs all competele ready for blocking and paint
New Rad support and front end (HZ)
New Gaurds (better condition than the others) also HZ
Welded in to patches for the sill panels as they had rusted out (you'll see in the photos below)
Bonnet finished ready for blocking and paint
Hinges and a few smaller things finished and painted

I have sprayed a couple of test colours, and i have made up my mind, i have got a couple of pics for you all to see with the colours, ones the back wall inside the ute and the other is the inner engine bay side gaurd
the "red" "burgndy" colour is what i will be painting the whole ute, the "gold" colour is what i will be painting in the engine bay and under bonnet and pin striping, the chais and rails and fire wall will be gloss black
The quillty of the paint work in the photos is not the finshed result and is also the first time i have tryed to spray a mettilic paint, bit harder than just a base or clear coat, the "test" spray is more just to see how the colour looks on a big panel

anyways enjoy and comments are welcome, also any ideas to guys, cheers

Above - this is what both the LH and RH sill panels where like

2 above - Heres where i started to patch both sides

Above - staring to look abit straighter now

Inside guard test colour, will also use this colour for the pin strips

Above - my final choice of colour for the ute, match that will gold pin strips and polished ally wheels and a hard wood tray, i think she will look alrighty

The burgndy colour is alot darker in person, and the metelic is not so present in the photo, the flash from the camera dosent always help and there is only 1 coat of paint on there, i have a couple of other pic's i might upload which might look a bit better on the colour side of things
but thats what i desided on, each to his own, either way it will be nice and tidy when finished

I finally got my v8 in the ute, just have to clean up a bit of the wiring ect now, auto is also now in the car
i have also painted the cab and inner gaurds
i went with tiger mica orange as it was donated to me by a mate at work (thanks to big kev)
the colour is amasing, it is metillic but it is hard to see in the photo's and light

just gotta save some money now for the hood lining and carpit and i will be able to fit up the interoiur and windows
i have started the repair work on the doors and gaurds and hopefully they should all be done soon

i have put all the front end back togeather aswell and changed over the pedal boxes and trottle cables to

Anyways heres a couple of pic's of the ute cab and its new paint

I been moving house and changing jobs and time has just past me by as always

i got the 253 running, 4.44:1 diff ratio and fitted the 3spd auto
