Hyperdrive's reads low! Thats common knowledge dude.

Just because it reads lower than other workshops doesn't mean it reads low. In my opinion it reads accurately. Having seen what power levels cars achieve coming out of there, they really seem to suit the mods the cars have and seem like realistic levels. Go check out the dyno threads on SAU, you will see what I mean. Yes the dyno reads a bit lower than other workshops, but if you look at cars coming out of those other workshops and what mods they have, they really don't seem realistic.

Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me. An alcoholic is someone you don't like who drinks as much as you do. Don't drink and drive, you might hit a bump and spill your drink. You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. Stay busy, get plenty of exercise, and don't drink too much. Then again, don't drink too little. Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time. One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time. A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine, except that on a day without sunshine you can still get drunk. I stopped drinking, but only when I sleep. This is one of the disadvantages of wine: it makes a man mistake words for thought. Cigarettes and coffee: an alcoholic's best friend !!!! When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading. I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they always worked for me. The consumption of alcohol may cause pregnancy. A man who exposes himself when he is intoxicated, has not the art of getting drunk. A bartender is just a pharmacist with a limited inventory. I drink to forget I drink. Alcohol is necessary for a man so that he can have a good opinion of himself, undisturbed be the facts. Once, during Prohibition, I was forced to live for days on nothing but food and water. The whole world is about three drinks behind. I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

From memory parking at C-Red is shithouse!

What's wrong with Autoworx? Their dyno is fairly new so it should be running sweet. Even if it is reading "low" the cars will still come out in the correct order of power output (e.g the guy with the most powerful car is still going to produce bigger numbers then everyone else) so I don't see the problem. Plus parking shouldn't be a problem, there is plenty of room and do worries about doing a sausage sizzle!

Yeh, nothing wrong with it for our purpose, I just don't like AutoWorx very much, Alistair is not my choice of person to work on my car... But again, that doesn't affect what we would be doing there, so I'm really all for going to AutoWorx for this.

Alistair is a dickhead, and Autoworx are shit. But they have a dyno and it's kinda hard for them to stuff things up... So I'd go back again for this.

Am I hiding my I'll feelings for Autoworx enough here?

Is that still leaking from the sump? I love Red...

LOL yer man, still leaking but not for long. Work is to be done on it shortly.

In the next couple of weeks im starting to buy some stuff for it. Heres my shopping list...

New tyres all round. Big chunky fukers
New twin thermo fan setup off a EF, EL Falcon. (Ive herd they are the best to use)
New water pump
New HEI electronic dizzy. (Sick of points dizzy)
New Holley carby
New harmonic balancer (Get rid of the vibration issue at certin rev ranges)
New alternator
Replace most hoses. (The ones i still havent changed yet coz they havent blown off :P)
Replace muffler with broken baffels
Adjust clutch
Fix sump with making more clearance to diff hump for jumps :P
And finally a new Red paint job.

I thought about getting extractors to disperse the heat better so it doesnt over heat as much but i duno yet. I know the old cast exhaust manifolds get bloody hot so i reckon thats contributing to the heat build up under the bonnet.

I love red too. Its so much fun. For a AMC 360 V8, it whoops ass with torque and it can put up with the way i treat it. You should of seen it the other day pulling up a tree. That was fun!

2 wheel drive for dyno is no probs with me either. Just take fuse out and its in 2wd.

I've never dyno'd before, so was wondering a few things:

I'm assuming we'll get a printout of out runs on the dyno?
How many runs do we get?
On the printout, I'm guessing we will get HP/KW vs rpm as well as torque curve?
Is there a way to measure my air/fuel ratios on my car, so it can be put onto printout?

Thanks Socrates

Yes you get a print out, usually your best run. Most of the time there are 3 runs in succession.
Yes, you get HP/KW, torque, RPM, speed, and A/F ratio. Unless you don't have an exhaust like SLYDR, who got boost instead.
That was a funny day, when I had to explain to him that you actually need an exhaust that's accessible so they can shove the probe up it to measure A/F ratio.

I thought they connect up the ecu to the dyno for the A/F Ratio, for your modern cars?
