Oh yeah, forgot about that! Lol.

Still, I'd've made them give it to me free after that.

Dumping will be done, stock rims will be repainted and polish the stainless steel so it's chromelike.

Choices
Build L24ET through a workshop here. up to $5000 i estimate.

or buy one of the following from a dude in melbourne.

L28ET
Reconditioned P90 head
New TO4E Turbo
Dump Pipe to suit F54 block
New 5 puck button clutch
280XZ Turbo gearbox
Wolf3D ecu wiring for R30
$2500 + postage from melbourne
Will need front facing sump swap

L20ET
mods:
Bigger injectors
Highflow R34 turbo

Exedy heavy clutch
Shortnose gearbox
Stainless split dump pipe and front pipe
$1500 + postage from melbourne

Definitely leaning towards L28ET.

First one sounds better, depending on the condition on the rest of the long motor and how hard it'll be to find+fit a sump. That's alot of hard work already out of the way for you, and if the motor is all good, works out alot better than rebuilding.

Freight costs aren't too much. $1k tops, just ring around, should be able to get <$800 easily.

i have 2 front facing sumps here that will bolt of from my 2 spare engines. so that's good
Just the pickup inside might be a problem but the dude's had it in a r30 before so it's had front facing mod before and he's changed it back to standard.

Only other problem is getting the loom to work with the cars existing power setup.
My dash doesn't have lights for oil or check engine either.

All you do for the warning lights is put some coloured led's in. Piece of cake

Getting power to the loom/ECU is easy. Just clarify with the seller exactly what is needed. If you need to wire up relays, fuel pumps, etc it might be worth going option 2. If it just needs power and ground, it's piece of piss.

Wiring up Check Engine / Oil lights might also be tricky. I think the lines off the loom are signal/trigger only, usually not strong enough to wire up to an independant light. Check Engine / Oil lights with an LED migth be possible, but I know with tacho n shit, the signal is very weak and relies on the dash cluster receiving it's own power to display it.

Am i right in saying that buying the L28ET would be cheaper than getting L24ET built?

Absolutely.

When you put your foot into it, the smile will be more valuable than the piddly $3.5k you spent.

L28ET, accept no substitute.

try get the l28 without the "New TO4E Turbo" because fuck that! u can be 90% sure it will be a china copy as just about every chinese seller on ebay advertises their fully sick turbo as a T04E.
