doez anyoine know if a VL T3 turbo would work on a CA18 and what would a good ecu be to use on it?

Don't use the VL turbo on a CA18DET man, it'll be way too laggy. They were designed to be used with a 3L engine and a 1.8L would not have sufficient exhaust gases to spool it up to a useable range.
If possible, try and score an AVO 320hp Garret that will bolt straight up. If you're lucky you may be able to get hold of a second hand one in good nick. It'll lose nothing in the lower rev range and will gain a heap up top. A better solution.

As for the ECU, that's always up to your tuner. Some may have a good idea how to tune some while others won't have a clue. Ask James about that one.
