Im afer the ducks nuts of immobilisers.
Seeing as the wrx is jap spec it doesnt have one, still not too sure how it passed pits :/
Does anyone have any recommendations on what to get? I need central locking and some nice bells and whistles to deter the natives.

I got an Identimark system installed in my car, works well but the customer service isn't too great. I'd probably give them a 7/10.

Really the customer service pisses me off, they are real helpful until they have installed their system and you have a question, then they become impossible to get hold of. To be honest I wouldn't recommend them.

Phil and I both have Autowatch alarms, and we both love them. Built in Turbo Timer and shit. However I may change mine to something with a keypad, cos too many cars are being stolen cos they steal the keys from the houses
One idea I wanted to do for my friend (cheap immoboliser idea) is to cut the fuel pump fuse, and run it through under the fuse box, into the fender, inside the car, under the carpet and put a switch under the seat. No visible wires, and no one would think about looking there

Yeh I was going to look into something like that, but I live in a really secure area and Ellenbrook is also good so I think it's probably unnecessary.

Some of those model WRXs had a proximity chip in the ignition key. A certain few that didn't (the owners) were given the option by Subaru to have one of their keypad (pin-code) systems fitted. The keypad system was the same they used in the newer models once the cars went from the wharf to the holding yard in Canning Vale for pre-delivery checks etc. This campaign was run about 10 or so years ago. Chances are, a lot of them have been removed/replaced. Some reasons for this included the systems not being as reliable as perhaps they could have been, also the ease of use came into it. As far as I know there are still pin-code operated systems available. I am happy to look into it if anyone is interested. Installing the upgrade alarms and keypad immobiliser systems was a fairly complex task when compared with the more popular Autowatch and Cyclops systems. All WRXs/STis/B4s had them fitted before going to the car yards. IIRC, they were trying to promote it as a factory fitted feature...
