Today, day off.
It started with a clean up.
Loaded the work ute with the RB20DET, auto gearbox, RB20E, VG30E, and VG auto gearbox, exhaust, and some other shit, and headed to the scrap metal blokes.
Came out with $86.75 (@ $120.00 per tonne)
Spent 4 bucks at the car wash, cleaning the tray, then back home.
Assembled box to bellhousing, properly:
And kept sorting engine bay shit.
I also gave BOTH looms to a generous DriftWA member, for rewiring, so 99% of it is going to be simply plug-in and go!
With the help of a mate, we lifted the engine and box UP, and gradually pushed the car closer, I then grew an incredibly large penis, and started acting like a cowboy
(Ok, what I WAS doing there, is supporting the box, to release the strap, to give the box more downward angle to go into the tunnel)
After about 20 angle adjustments and slight progressions forward, the box is in the tunnel, the motor is on the mounts, but has come off, to get the yoke into the box and the exhaust cleared.
STILL TO DO:
Motor
-->attach externals
-->attach intake + exhaust
-->attach new loom when received
Drivetrain
-->Mount gearbox and insert yoke
-->Fit gear shifter
Suspension/handling
-->Rear coilovers and 5 stud
-->Fit brakes all round
SOOOO CLOSE.
Again, if this IS running saturday night for the cruise, we will be running-in the suspension, brakes and motor, on the way TO the cruise, so hopefully we get it all right the first time, otherwise it's either tow truck, or the first meet point will become a temporary mobile garage.
Stressing, yet very excited, and even happy.
Today was a good day.

Cheers boys.
Soo flat out this week, am exhausted like you wouldn't believe.
Same goes for my mate Jason, who lives in NORTHAM but has been here till as late as 11:45 helping me, and needs to get up at 06:00 for work.
Hopefully it all pays off and she gets to roll on the cruise on Saturday night.

Even if you do the cruise on the back of a tow truck (something inwanna do one day ) at least you made it!!
Take your time, don't rush it through and you won make mistakes. Looks good tho mate, and impressive penis! I don't think I've ever said that before...

aaaahahaha, thanks for the compliments on the new, giant penis.
Have been keeping a steady pace, and being thorough but yeah, we've been pushing our limits. For semi-experienced car-loving blokes, we're pushing our limits as to how fast we're working. We're also under several hard constraints, like, working on a sloped gravel driveway (downhill) with barely any bitumen to hold the base of the crane, and being exposed to weather at certain points.
To think that on Saturday, the car was effectively a rolling shell, and now we're close to having a running 25DE NEO, it's weird, still trying to get my head around how quick we've worked, despite how rough the week has been and how much shit luck we've had to plow through, and the limited hours of the day we've had to work on the car.

Geezus!! That driveway doesn't make things very easy! It's hard enough to move those cranes around on concrete . Pretty decent effort mate! Hopefully both of us can get to the cruise Saturday so I can check out your work.

Having epic problems
Exhaust alignment.
Gearbox farked (found gear selector fork pin in gearbox oil)
Bleeding brakes is proving somewhat troublesome.
Eletrical connections on transmission->body and body->ECU.
The list goes on.
Has been a brutally rough week, and still not getting smoother.

Spewing man Sadly that's the reality of cars. Hopefully it's all simple issues to fix to get it back on the road.

Halfway through the rears...still unfinished as my back was playing up today.
Note, in pics, rear of vehicle is still well and truely clear of the ground......so as usual, don't arc up all like "OI cunt it needs more LOW!!!" ... I know it does
Also dialed in a little bit of camber on the front, the rear cradle has adjustable camber (factory) so I'll adjust that all the way in, which is about 2 degree's at the max.
I forgot all about the Cefiro projector headlights....took a photo on phone (which set the flash off), scared the SHIT out of me when it's eyes just lit up at me....

Starting to take shape. Your lucky your car comes with projectors! I'm forced to pay $3k+ for headlights that do t fit properly, or retro fit...

Cheers Rhys
It's still got some obvious rust spots / fading on the paint, it's certainly no show car for your fancy photography.
However, the main project, the day that's on the road, I'll be giving you a call for sure
Show pics..... + pics of VQ30DET Skids....

Okaaaay
Tried BRIEFLY to start it, and no dice.
Since the clutch is engaged (with no fluid to disengage it) its still turning the input shaft, the gearbox has no oil and a fucked gear selector fork, so, no more doing that....
Having problems finding a stable IGN power source for the ECU, so once the motor and new gearbox are back in we'll sort that out.
Possibly going to do the +Turbo now rather than later, as the headers I got off Martin don't line up with the cat, both length ways and angle.
stuff I HAVE done in the meantime.
Tidied up wiring in engine bay, soldered as much as I could, and hidden exposed wired that were cut.
Wired up N60 Purple Label AFM
Tidied up wiring on inside of firewall.
Stay tuned for updates in coming week.

5 Stud done
Brakes Done
33 GTR Rims Done
Still need to adjust the coilovers, particularly at the front to even up the height, but also a noticeable difference on the Left side.
Motor in, looking all tidy and shit, and now I have it pull it out and make another big mess.
